Our Verdict

A strong shortlist option for a creator website or a bounded, browser-based prototype. Choose Manual mode for content-led pages and Agentic mode for custom interactions and data-backed logic. Test permissions and real behavior before launch, confirm the full credit and renewal package, and plan backend-data portability separately. Not a native mobile-app builder or a guarantee of a production-ready app from one prompt. Source-based review, not our own paid hands-on benchmark.

Hostinger’s most interesting AI product is no longer just a website generator. Hostinger AI Builder now combines the former Website Builder and Horizons into one product with two building modes. Manual mode is for visual website editing. Agentic mode is for describing a website or web application and having AI generate its design and code. For a creator who wants more than an attractive homepage, that distinction is the starting point. 1

The appeal is practical: move from an idea to a hosted, interactive first version without assembling every piece of the development stack yourself. The trade-off is equally practical. AI-generated logic still needs testing, credits are not a predictable one-message fee, and exporting source code is not the same as exporting your entire live backend. This review is based on current public product pages, official support documentation, and an attributed third-party test—not our own paid hands-on benchmark.

What happened to Hostinger Horizons?

If you have been researching Horizons, you are looking at the predecessor of the current Agentic experience. Hostinger says it merged Horizons and its website builder into Hostinger AI Builder. Older tutorials can still explain useful prompting habits, but their plan names, trial allowances and feature boundaries should not be treated as current purchase information. 1

Manual mode starts with AI generation or a template, then uses a drag-and-drop editor. Its documented toolkit includes AI writing, blog generation, SEO assistance, image generation and logo creation. It suits portfolios, business pages, blogs and other content-led sites where editing the page is the main job. 2

Agentic mode adds a conversational workflow, code generation, a built-in code editor and integrated backend capabilities. It is the more relevant option for a client portal, membership experience, dashboard, tracker or tool that must do something with user input. Neither mode should be chosen simply because its label sounds more advanced. A musician’s press kit may need Manual mode; a portal where collaborators log in and manage projects may justify Agentic mode. 2

What the Agentic builder actually does

The documented workflow has a chat pane beside an interactive preview. You describe the purpose, features and visual direction, inspect the generated result, then request specific changes. Images, PDFs and HTML files can help communicate a layout or content reference. The code editor provides an additional route for people comfortable making technical changes. 3

This is more useful than a chatbot that merely returns a block of code. The builder connects generation with a preview, hosting and publication. It can also be prompted to create data-backed behavior through its integrated backend or to connect external databases and APIs. Hostinger specifically documents external options such as Supabase and Firebase. 4

However, agentic building does not mean an unattended business that reliably runs itself. Hostinger’s own guide asks the user to refine logic and test navigation, data operations and mobile presentation before publishing. Its technical documentation warns that AI may change more than requested, produce different results from the same prompt, or need iterative correction. Advanced debugging can still require a developer. 3 4

Our view: this is a persuasive way to shorten the distance between an idea and a working prototype. It is not evidence that an untested application is ready to hold sensitive customer data, charge subscribers or enforce complex permissions.

Where it makes sense for creators

A simple artist portfolio, campaign page or service website is an obvious fit. For those projects, Manual mode may be easier to maintain because updating the biography, artwork and navigation does not require redesigning application logic.

Agentic mode becomes more interesting when the project has relationships and rules. Consider a music-production client portal with project stages, file links and feedback, or a small event dashboard with a schedule and member access. Those are examples of the kinds of apps its documented capabilities could support—not applications we have built and verified on Hostinger.

A stronger first prompt describes behavior, not just appearance. For example: “Create a responsive client portal for a recording studio. Clients can sign in and see only their own projects. Staff can update project stages. Do not implement payments yet.” The last sentence deliberately narrows the first version.

Then test whether one client can access another client’s records, whether changes persist after signing out, and whether buttons perform real operations rather than only changing the screen. The value of an agentic builder is faster development; the responsibility for approving the result does not disappear.

Backend, integrations and payments: useful, not automatic proof

Hostinger advertises an integrated backend and support for Stripe payments, while its documentation allows external APIs and databases. These features matter because a convincing interface alone is not a functioning membership site or software service. A useful app must store information and handle users consistently. 1 4

Still, connecting a payment provider is not the same as a verified billing system. A subscription product needs correct account permissions, payment confirmation, cancellation behavior and error handling. Readers should also expect account verification and third-party fees where those providers require them.

For stores, check the bundle carefully. The product landing page emphasizes an all-in-one experience, while the support comparison says Hostinger Ecommerce can be a separate subscription billed apart from the builder. The current plan page lists ecommerce availability on certain plans. These are not precise enough to promise that every store feature is included at no extra charge. Confirm the actual store subscription and payment costs before purchasing. 1 2 5

The other Hostinger AI products—and what they are not

Hostinger’s broader AI offering includes writing and visual tools, SEO assistance, email tools and Reach email marketing. These can help a small team develop page copy, prepare imagery and communicate with an audience. Availability depends on the product and plan; “Hostinger has this tool” does not mean every subscription includes it. 6

Hostinger Agent is distinct from AI Builder’s Agentic mode. The former is presented as an assistant for account, website and business tasks. Hostinger advertises more than 400 supported tasks. The latter is the mode used to generate and refine your website or application. Do not buy one assuming it is an interchangeable subscription to the other. 6

Hostinger also describes business AI agents and separate credit systems for products such as Reach. This is why we would choose a builder plan around a defined project first, then assess additional AI products individually. More tools can be convenient, but they also make it easier to misunderstand what is bundled.

SEO assistance helps draft and find omissions. It is not a guarantee of Google rankings, indexing speed, referral traffic, or visibility in AI answers. Generated content and metadata still need an editor, especially when the site makes factual or commercial claims.

Current prices: read the commitment, not just the headline

On the US pricing page checked October 15, 2026, Premium was displayed at $2.99 per month, with 48 months paid upfront for $143.52, renewing at $10.99 per month. Unlimited was $3.99 per month, or $191.52 upfront for 48 months, renewing at $16.99 per month. Cloud Startup was $7.99 per month, or $383.52 upfront for 48 months, renewing at $25.99 per month. These were advertised rates, not month-to-month offers; taxes and the checkout terms can change the amount payable. 5

One easily missed detail matters more than the headline discount: those live cards described 5 AI creation credits on Premium and 15 on Unlimited or Cloud Startup as a one-time gift. We would not call that a recurring monthly Agentic allowance. Cloud Startup also displayed 20 Hostinger Agent credits, which should not be assumed to be interchangeable with builder credits. 5

Hostinger’s support comparison still mentions credit subscriptions such as Explorer, Starter, Hobbyist, and Hustler, while the current public pricing page shows the three plans above. That naming and packaging mismatch is a reason to confirm the ongoing Agentic-credit package in your account or at checkout- not to publish old Horizons prices as current facts. Hosting must remain active; the current pricing FAQ says hosting is included with a builder purchase when you do not already have it. 2 5

A free trial is documented as seven days with five complimentary Agentic credits. It allows building and previewing, but not publication; trial stores cannot connect payment methods, and code export requires upgrading. The landing page says no payment card is required to try the builder. Five credits should be treated as a limited evaluation budget, not a promise of a finished production app. 1 7

Credit usage and refund limits deserve attention

Agentic credit usage is dynamic. Hostinger says similar requests can cost different amounts, complex work generally consumes more, and even general chat inquiries count. The product page also says visitor use of AI features in a published app can consume credits. Building an AI-powered generator therefore has a development cost and potentially an ongoing usage cost. 1 8

There is a wording mismatch around small edits. The landing page says direct text and image editing can avoid credits; the support article says manual changes through Select & edit deduct a small amount. Do not assume every visual-editing path is free. Check the named editing flow and your usage dashboard. Purchased top-ups are documented as more expensive per credit than subscriptions and expire after three months if unused. 8

The advertised 30-day money-back guarantee also has a credit-use condition on the product page: fewer than 30 credits used. That is not an unlimited test period. Check the applicable refund terms before committing or consuming a large number of credits. 1

Exporting your code is valuable—but not a full migration

Hostinger says a paid Agentic project can be exported as a ZIP containing a React/Vite project using Node.js tooling. Developers can edit it, build static assets or deploy it in another suitable environment. That is a meaningful advantage over a builder with no source-code exit route. 5 9

The limitation is substantial: the export does not include your integrated backend data. The export guide describes frontend and logic files, with backend data managed separately. An exported interface is not a backup of customer records, user accounts or everything needed to reproduce the live application. 9

You also cannot re-import the edited project and resume prompting inside AI Builder. Direct GitHub code imports are not supported according to the technical guide. Treat export as an exit route that may require technical work, not a seamless two-way development workflow. Plan data portability before the app becomes business-critical. 4 9

The boundaries that can affect your project

Hostinger builds responsive websites and web apps—not native applications for the Apple App Store or Google Play. Mobile-friendly browser access can be exactly what a creator needs, but it is a different deliverable from an app-store release. 1 5

The Agentic environment also does not provide traditional FTP, SFTP, SSH, file-manager access, cron jobs or a resource monitor. SSL, CDN and server cache are managed automatically rather than exposed for customization. This keeps hosting simpler, but can be a poor fit for projects that require those controls. 4

The current technical guide says AI Builder domains use nameservers or a CNAME record, not A records. Follow the instructions for your specific Hostinger project; do not reuse another platform’s DNS addresses. 4

Independent experience adds perspective. In WPShout’s published Horizons review, the writer produced an attractive portfolio and an ambitious time-tracking prototype. More thorough testing found a timer that undercounted when its tab was inactive. That is an attributed test of an earlier product version, not proof that the same bug exists today. It illustrates why looking finished and behaving correctly are separate checks. 10

Our verdict

Hostinger AI Builder is a strong candidate for creators who want a fast path to a professional website or a custom browser-based prototype. Manual mode is the sensible option for straightforward content-led pages. Agentic mode is the interesting step up when the project needs custom interactions, a backend, or more flexible logic.

Its strongest proposition is the combination of prompting, preview, managed hosting, and an exportable frontend. Its weakest point for a buying decision is that current plan cards, older support packaging, and some credit wording do not line up cleanly. The platform also trades infrastructure control for convenience, and source export does not solve backend-data portability.

We would shortlist it for a portfolio, a bounded creator tool, or an early client-portal prototype. We would insist on deeper testing and a data-exit plan before relying on it for sensitive records, complex billing, or business-critical workflows. Native app-store projects should look elsewhere.

Explore Hostinger’s current AI plans through the owner’s referral link, compare the full upfront and renewal commitments, and start with a small, testable project. The right purchase is the one that matches the work-not the largest promise on the page.
