My name is William Feliciano, Jr. I’m from the lower east side of Manhattan, New York. In 2011, I graduated with honors from the Institute of Audio Research (IAR) and I am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in music production at Berklee College of Music Online. For the past dozen years, I’ve been producing music starting off by using Reason, then I learned the pro tools, Ableton, Logic, and now the Maschine.
In addition to producing music, I teach kids in Haiti once a week using Skype how to use the program Reason to make their own hip hop and reggae beats.
I usually use my art to unite with others. Although I love sharing my music, I have a personal connection to each song I create. Most of the tracks I construct come from a motivating incident, good or bad, an idea from someone or from other music I listen to. Music helps me release aggression and turn it into something creative. The ability to invent, innovate, and connect with people keeps me fascinated with art. Reaching the world and evoking peoples’ emotions drive my artistic purpose.
My experiences provide the foundation for my work in its most raw form. Synthesized bass sounds, classic drum samples, droning 808 sounds and high pitch bell like echoes are staples in my arsenal. I’m always experimenting and adding new elements in my compositions as time goes by. I like to use different approaches, during the creative process. I begin to realize when I’m being true to my art form by expanding my mind and attempting to use uncharted methods. I enjoy true art that has no limits and uses whatever it can to make a bold statement and get its point across. Searching for truth in my work has made me who I am today.
Over the past years, Ive learned to study other music and include it into my style of music. Discovering new genres and studying their underlying elements has given me a new outlook on making music. Presently I’m creating songs and collaborating with hip-hop, salsa, pop, reggae, and reggaeton artists. Lately, I find myself jumping back and forth from my old methods to the new methods of producing. Continuing to grow as an artist and attempting to create a profound relationship with people from all around the world through my music is my main goal.
